What is operations management?
Operations are generally used as an inclusive term to refer to the corporate area responsible for actually producing goods and services. This integrates all the activities required to create and deliver a product or service, from selecting suppliers and/or raw materials to supply chain management and distribution. This branch deals with the optimum utilisation of resources for delivering quality product or services.

Operations management deals with planning, organising, supervising and controlling the context of manufacturing of product or services. Operations manager has to deal with supply chain and logistics section as well, though in large Organisations there are separate experts available.
